Entries for the Exemplar Award, Data Linking Award and Peer Award 2024 are now open. 

The closing date for Award entries is Monday 22nd April 2024.


The judges will be looking for:

  • exceptional performance

  • levels of real innovation and problem solving where appropriate

  • entries that demonstrate how address and/or street gazetteers have been key to the project

  • facts and figures, and in particular financial savings, will be rewarded

  • entries that follow the instructions on the form

  • succinct entries

  • judges will also be assessing overall compliance with Data Co-Operation Agreement commitments, usage of wider PSGA datasets, and the Data Entry Conventions documents.

Applying and conditions

To apply:

  • the entry form for the Exemplar Award is available here

  • the entry form for the Peer Awards is available here

  • the entry form for the Data Linking Award is available here
  • entries will only be accepted if they are made on the appropriate form

  • no appended extra supporting information will be allowed as part of the submission and will be disregarded by the judges, but links to supporting information can be provided

  • if more than one category is being applied for, separate appropriately tailored entries should be submitted

  • all entries must be received by the closing date

  • entries must be submitted electronically to [email protected]. An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent.

Tips

  • please read the entry instructions carefully

  • every section of the form should be completed

  • provide quantifiable evidence as much as possible – facts and figures will be rewarded

  • Ask a colleague to proof read your entry.

Conditions of entry

  • the Awards are open to local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales

  • local address and/or local streets datasets means Local Land and Property Gazetteer and/or Local Street Gazetteer as maintained by the Authority Address Custodian or Authority Streets Custodian.

Other information

  • the judges' decision is final. If the judges are not satisfied that the applications are of sufficient quality then no award will be given in a particular category

  • Applicants can keep parts of their application confidential to the judges if they wish. Any confidential information must be identified as such in the application. However, the information must still be included; references to confidential information which is not included will not be accepted, as the information in all entries must be verifiable

  • the applicant agrees that the information from entries, unless marked 'confidential information, may be used by GeoPlace to promote local address and street datasets. This includes using winning and highly recommended entries as stories in the media. Award winners may also be invited to give conference presentations about the activity featured in the entry.

The closing date for awards entries is 17.00 on Monday 22nd April 2024.
