Using NSG data
The NSG is available for use by an organisation with a statutory duty to coordinate street works activities or dig in the road or a legitimate need to access the data connected to the core business function of an organisation contributing data to and from the NSG.
Ordnance Survey have issued a briefing note aimed at any user of the NSG who has been registered or is in the process of being allocated a Street Works Data Capture Code and, in particular, Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) Members and their contractors, street works statutory undertakers and works promoters and their contractors.
Any entity that wishes to use NSG data will need to agree to terms and conditions of supply set out in a "click through" page for registered users. This must be agreed to each time you download data.
One of the main conditions of supply of NSG data is that the user must also be appropriately licensed for the use of certain underlying Ordnance Survey data before GeoPlace is able to allow access to the NSG data.
This briefing note provides a short summary explaining the requirement for users of NSG data to be licensed for the use of underlying Ordnance Survey data. The briefing note can be seen at http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/docs/papers/use-of-nsg-and-ordnance-survey-data.pdf
