12noon session - Using AI to monitor roads

Highways authorities are using advanced imagery and artificial intelligence (AI) more and more to assess our roads. 

  • OS and Mobileye have created ‘RIACT' to crowdsource data and the built environment from fleet vehicles, and OS will showcase how it's using that data and AI in monitoring road conditions and increasing public safety.

2pm session - Underground assets

  • The highway authority representative on the Street Manager Governance team will give a Custodian's view of Street Manager

  • Northumbrian Water and the Geospatial Commission will show us the North East of England's prototype National Underground Asset Register, emphasising the need to work with local authorities to capture good quality asset data.

3.25pm session - OSMM Highways Network workshop

The final session will be a workshop on OSMM Highways Network, accessing and using to best effect – and why an aligned street dataset is key.
