GeoPlace has maintained its ISO9001 Quality Management Standard for nearly six years since achieving certification at the beginning of January 2009, and will be undertaking full recertification in November 2014. Its ISO27001 Information Security Standard has been successfully maintained for nearly five years, since original certification in October 2010.
Following a move to the British Standards Institute (BSI) to provide certification services in August 2013, GeoPlace successfully passed three assessment visits, two for ISO9001 and one for ISO27001, all without fault. These audits have covered essential business functions including support services, data management, systems and software development, engagement and communication services with no areas of concern identified.
The most recent audit at the beginning of July 2014 covered the supply of data services to Ordnance Survey for the provision of the AddressBase® range of products which are the definitive source of spatial address and property information and under the Public Services Mapping Agreement, made available to the whole of the public sector free at the point of use.

GeoPlace is a public sector limited liability partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey. GeoPlace's role is to create and maintain the National Address Gazetteer and the National Street Gazetteer for England and Wales, providing definitive sources of publicly-owned spatial address and street data for Great Britain.
Public Service Mapping Agreement
The Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) began on 1 April 2011 and gives public sector organisations in England and Wales access to Ordnance Survey products. The PSMA is a partnership between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Ordnance Survey. It is centrally funded for any public sector body that is eligible to access and use of a selection of high quality digital map products. The PSMA spans almost all public sector organisations and will run for ten years, it started on April 1st, 2011 and has already attracted over 2,800 organisations to take advantage of being a member.
