Local Authority Liaison Manager: Data transformation (2 years fixed term)

Purpose:

To work with teams across GeoPlace, Ordnance Survey and the Local Government Association to champion the use of geospatial data within the sector

Key Roles:

  • Raise awareness of UPRNs and USRNs as essential infrastructure for joined-up local government data particularly among senior leaders
  • Particular focus on supporting broader geospatial adoption in local government for new system changes.
  • Demonstrate value to local authorities — how geospatial data and associated products save time, money, and improve service quality.
  • Provide local government user feedback to OS on product strategy and roadmaps, and adoption barriers and PSGA value.
  • Showcase success stories from councils already leveraging efficiencies and improvements.
  • Enhance skills and capacity within teams within local authorities, in collaboration with other colleagues
  • Work with colleagues to develop resources to support the evolution of supplied systems to utilise UPRN and USRN (NGD) in products
  • Be a conduit for requirements from local government to relevant stakeholders capturing their needs of geospatial data

  • Excellent active listening skills
  • You will be confident in persuading and influencing others verbally and in writing.
  • Experience of presenting and working with a range of operational and senior staff in external organisations
  • Creative, collaborative approach to developing delivery plans
  • An enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
  • Well organised with attention to detail.

 

Knowledge:

  • Proven experience working with local government and geospatial data
  • Good understanding of local authority business processes.
  • Good understanding of geospatial data, particularly with the use and application possibilities for service delivery
