Practical guidance for local authorities (and others) on which, when and how to use address matching tools

Chair: Jonathan Saunders, Head of Data Insights, GeoPlace

  • The 80:20 rule

Jonathan Saunders, Head of Data Insights, GeoPlace

Jon will outline good practice in address data matching, no matter if it’s a handful of UPRNs thousands or even millions of records. He will examine key considerations such as format, structure, truthing, parent and child matching, and most importantly how you know you have the right UPRN on the right record.  Bring along a sample of your own data for expert help on the day.

  • The local authority perspective

Joseph Leach, Data Architect, Tower Hamlets - Mia Polovina, Data Science, Insight & Performance Lead, Lewisham - Cliff Chavhundura, Spatial Data Analyst, Hackney - Marta Villalobos, Senior Data Analyst, London Borough of Hackney

Three local authority data scientists and analysts will compare and contrast the leading open-source addressing matching and data-cleaning solutions freely available to the public sector, ASSIGN, AIMS, Splink and OS Places, and outline practical applications, including the development of processes that utilise data-matching APIs.
