  • Ancel Boucher, Chief Revenue Officer, Vyntelligence
  • Gary Powell, Contract Support Manager, Trinity

Shropshire County Council, Solihull Council, Cadent Gas, JAG(UK) and Vyntelligence are working together to prove that streetworks site audits can be delivered remotely. Full transparency of works, digitally shared in a secure platform, enables parties to review, comment & collaborate remotely on multiple activities, without the need for endless carbon miles driving between sites. The power of self-audit, video & AI is improving quality, increasing collaboration and saving the planet. A gamechanger in the industry, huge potential lies ahead to permanently change the way we work together, reduce penalties, overruns and manage work to better standards, at lower cost and with lesser impact on the planet.

During this session we will provide examples and discuss the tangible benefits that NUAR can offer individuals and their organisations. David Capon, CEO of JAG(UK) will chair this session bringing invaluable insight and knowledge to the table. We will be joined by other organisations that have already been engaging with NUAR, to share their insights and opinions. Introduction by David Capon, and a short presentation from each speaker on each topic. Followed by a discussion about:

  • What benefits do you see NUAR delivering for your organisation?
  • How do we maximise participation of NUAR?

  • StarTraq

Cloud-Based Highway Licensing and Permits Solution

Learn how the StarGo solution can digitise the application, payment and enforcement of your Highways Licences and Permits. The cloud-based solution removes the need for applicants to apply via post or email and brings together all account and application data into one solution which also interfaces with Street Manager. We are delighted to be joined in this discussion by Kent County Council who went live with the solution in 2021. They will be giving an overview of the key benefits and business improvements that they have been able to achieve since go-live.

  • WDM

Challenges of mobile inspections and Street Manager User Interface

Undertaking an inspection on a works can be challenging. From initially navigating and finding the site to efficiently managing the inspection workload and undertaking the inspection in a consistent manner. So, what data does an inspector need to undertake an inspection?

For Live site/work in progress:

  • Conditions
  • Status of works
  • Other works in the vicinity
  • S74 Overruns

Completed Works – Sample, Reinspection, Management of Coring Programmes:

  • Site information
  • Registration of reinstatement

Common functionalities:

  • Record outcomes
  • Schedule follow-ups
  • Raise associated FPN
  • Raise Section 81’s
  • Overlay of Other Highway Activities

How do we provide this to the inspectors?

  • GeoPlace

How can we improve the sharing of data for efficient coordination of street works

The National Street Gazetteer underpins street works coordination and is vital for sharing information about streets that improves health and safety and the efficient coordination of works. The industry is changing and data requirements, formats of delivery and currency need to change with it. At this roundtable we would like to explore what that looks like in particular asking the following questions.

  • What data already exists and is underused or needs to improve
  • What other data is out there that might be useful for coordination
  • What does Improving access, currency and formats of data look like

  • Connected Kerb

Find out how your council can lead the UK’s EV charging revolution, from procurement to installation, with the Cambridge City Council case study.

As the ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars is looming, many local authorities have set ambitious goals to achieve Net Zero, but they don’t always know what strategies are needed or how to deliver them. One of them being more and more looked at is the deployment of EV charging infrastructure as electric vehicles popularity is surging.

People want to charge their EV where they would naturally park and over 60% in the UK do not have a driveway to install a personal charging point.

As a local council, it’s difficult to know where to start if you're interested in leading the charge and preparing your area for electric vehicles.

Connected Kerb have teamed up with Cambridge City Council to help shed some light on the best steps to take for a successful deployment from selecting suppliers, exploring different commercial models, running a successful procurement process to rolling out and delivering EV charging points.

Presenting the Evidence - Opportunities for collaboration and coordination

  • Richard Groombridge, Product and Data Development Manager, GeoPlace

Collaboration is something we aspire to in this industry and is an increasing area of focus to facilitate the better coordination of street works, but there is very little evidence that identifies whether opportunities exist. This research project aimed to build on a successful feasibility study in Cambridge City Council to deliver evidence for whole of England by analysing data from DfT Street Manager highlighting opportunities in the past, present and future for better collaboration. Examining street works data from Street Manager, but using common principles ensuring that the analysis is useable with any street works data, we looked at works that took place at the same time on the same and neighbouring USRNs, and any works that took place within 3 months of each other on the same or neighbouring USRNs thus ensuring we had extensive but a relevant view of opportunities. Introducing other datasets we were then able to explore other data criteria that may have facilitated or identified the need for more consideration to collaboration.

The presentation will present high level indications of the impact to the industry of better collaboration, how we got there and then a look to the future as to how this project can work with other initiatives, current systems and practices to work to a better future of street works collaboration.
