As the cost of living and energy crises continue and winter nears, it will be vital to identify and prioritise people who need extra support. The most vulnerable people in our communities must not slip through the net. Local public services will need to collaborate across organisational boundaries to firstly identify those who are vulnerable and then coordinate relevant services and support around the individual.

Data sharing is complex, but by putting Unique Property Reference Numbers - UPRNs - in government datasets, and under appropriate information governance rules, data can be brought together to support a multi-agency approach in delivering public service challenges such as vulnerability, household support grants and energy efficiency grants.
