Intelligent Addressing up to full strength

Posted: 01 March 2006

Two more personnel have recently joined the Intelligent Addressing Team as part of the company's recent recruitment drive, which resulted from winning the Mapping Services Agreement (MSA).
The MSA is a key local government contract, which covers the supply, maintenance and collation of local authority address and street gazetteers throughout England and Wales.
The National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) is unique, taking daily, weekly and monthly inputs from 376 local authorities across England and Wales to create the master dataset of addresses for land and property with over 30 million records. The NLPG is a rich dataset which combines past and present data to provide the definitive address list for the country and also contains objects that do not have a postal address such as some shops, multi-occupancy buildings (such as nurses homes and student accommodation), bus shelters, monuments, radio masts, advertising hoardings, car parks etc. The NLPG already plays a vital role in helping local government deliver joined-up and cost-effective services to citizens.
Intelligent Addressing also manages the National Street Gazetteer (NSG) which supports the electronic transfer of street works notifications between local highway authorities and utility companies.
The latest recruits to the Intelligent Addressing Team are:
Peter Baldwin, Senior Data Analyst is responsible for data analysis activities (such as address matching). Peter was previously responsible for LLPG consultancy at Local Government software company GGP.
Neil Silley, Gazetteer Technician is responsible for NLPG and NSG Hub updates. Neil was previously the Corporate Data Assistant for Restormel Borough Council working on their LLPG.

Intelligent Addressing is a specialist private sector consultancy (an SME) employing recognised experts in addressing. It was originally set up to help develop the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) on behalf of local government and now manages the NLPG and NSG central data hubs under the terms of the Mapping Services Agreement (MSA) with local government.
