Ongoing maintenance of the national address gazetteer will be through each local authority's local land and property (LLPG) custodian and local street custodian (LSG).
Local authorities deliver over 700 different services. Good quality addressing - knowing where people and assets are - makes a substantial difference to the efficiency with which these services are delivered and has a material impact upon the value or cost of the services provided. The case studies in this booklet demonstrate how local authorities, and their partners, have delivered better services to citizens and saved money through the use of their LLPG or LSG.
The aim of the national address gazetteer is to provide one definitive source of accurate publicly-owned spatial address data to meet the needs of customers in both the public and the private sectors.
