GeoPlace annual conference and coronavirus

Posted: 06 March 2020

We know there's uncertainty around coronavirus (COVID-19). We're keeping the situation under review and will gi

ve you regular updates â but at this point in time, GeoPlace2020 will be going ahead as planned on 29th April at Manchester United Football Club.

No need to postpone

As you may be aware, the UK risk level for coronavirus has been increased from low to moderate. However, the risk to individuals has not changed and remains low. At the moment, the government's Deputy Chief Medical Adviser says there is no need for a ban on events.

Your safety comes first

The safety of our attendees, speakers, exhibitors and wider community is our priority at every event. We'll be working closely with the conference venue, and following advice from the government, the Department of Health and Social Care, and Public Health England.

We look forward to seeing you

We know you may have questions, and we realise there's a lot of speculation about how the virus may or may not have an impact here in the UK, over the coming weeks. However, we're carefully reviewed all the information available and, at this point in time GeoPlace2020 will be going ahead.

If you do need any more information, please refer to the latest advice from the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public.

We will keep you updated, but in the meantime please don't hesitate to contact [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns
