Local to national; collaborating to deliver national infrastructure projects
This session examines Infrastructure – revealing how the drive for greater national efficiency will impact local authorities, and how they can benefit from being ahead of the game.
How will you use national transport data to improve traffic and communication networks, locally for example? What are other authorities doing to deliver mobility at scale, and are you ready to weather the perfect storm? What is government doing to drive collaboration to support digital infrastructure and reduce congestion, pollution and improve efficiency. With new infrastructure, fibre and 5G, climate change, active travel … enabling efficient infrastructure is a complex challenge. How is geographic data being used in the journey to a Smart City?
Planners, colleagues interested in economic growth and broadband/5G roll-out, climate change and transport will be interested in this session.

This session will focus on lifecycle content and processes to improve the timeliness of our data. Street naming and numbering, Improvement Schedules, PSGA data asks, stakeholder engagement and third-party data are all vital inputs. Speakers will outline the address management relationships with organisations such as the Department for Transport, the VOA, HM Land Registry, Royal Mail and other partners.
Speakers will discuss some of the key societal trends in areas such as the growth of electric vehicles and automated vehicles - reducing noise and air pollution and the drive to improve health with cycling and walking through active travel agenda. All of these have increasing the need for high quality geospatial data such as streets and addressing to both plan, record and publicise information.

A review of the year, pulling together as a community
This session celebrates the work of the DCA community and will announce the winners of the Exemplar and Peer Awards.
This two-day conference will have illustrated how much the public sector in particular relies on the work of the DCA community, and the drivers for ongoing data improvements. The DCA governance arrangements are vital in ensuring the interests of local government are foremost, and variations to the DCA, data entry conventions, specifications, and quality and performance measures can be monitored and agreed.
Cathy and Keith, as Principal Chairs of the DCA Regional Address and Streets Groups will outline the progress that has been made in the last year, despite the very real difficulties caused by COVID-19.
We want to hear from you – submit your questions to Cathy, Keith and a GeoPlace panel.
